Bruin Baseball

Hi Neil,

I realize many want to see their name in print, it's not always possible or plausible. But, is there a possibility you could give some ink time to a Utah County team that is in contention for the Region 7 title. Even the DNews had a full article about a game played in Utah County last night. I've only heard rumors that you are the "Anti-Bruin" but many of us were hoping you could put aside whatever it is that has upset you in the past, and cover a Utah County team that also opened up region play and did squeak out a win over Provo. Oh, yes that team is Mountain View. If it's a lack of information then I would be happy to supply you with game stats and highlights and the lowlights. If it's bias, well then, there's not much I can do to help you get by that. Other than to say "build a bridge and get over it."

Bruin Faithful.
Cool

First of all, what a comeback. I talked to Cooper about the Payson game. I think it shows a lot of heart and composure to come back after such a horrible inning.
I am always amused when people think I am anti one school or another. For the life of me I wonder where that comes from. Who says stuff like that and what is it based on? Has anyone every heard me say, “I hate Mountain View?”
I can only chuckle about the anti comment because it is so absurd. I have learned that in the 18 years I've been covering prep sports in Utah County that people usually think I hate a school because they don't think they get covered enough. Or when I pick (basketball and football) one team to beat another that I hate the school I pick against.
I do not decide what games get covered in the paper. That is the decision of our sports editor. I did talk to our sports editor about the teams that I thought that we needed to cover more and Mountain View was one of those teams.
I know I'm scheduled to do Mountain View next week. So please ask the person/people who are telling you that I am anti Mountain View what they are basing that on.
By the way, remember it was me who picked Mountain View to win Region 7 and I think if you look at my rankings for pitchers and hitters, the Bruins are very well represented.
