All Star Game rescheduled

Post  Neil Warner on Mon May 26, 2008 8:26 pm

The annual Utah Valley high school all-star game was rained out on Monday and rescheduled for Thursday, May 29.
The Coaches vs. All-Stars will start at 5 p.m.
The East vs. West game will start at 7 p.m.
I will have a lot of prizes to give out to fans and players. Come and support these seniors.

sorry, can't do it. 6 MV players (timpanogos only got 5)? left off two of the most deserving tigers and provo's law - he was only average at best. that's not an all-star team ... the baseball gods rained on your parade for a reason.

Count again. Timpanogos got six. The only parade you're raining on is that of the all-stars who are on the team.

Sounds like sour grapes. But drew has a point; mv is way over represented and orem is way under represented. Especially given how they did in state. If the DH isn't going to give sargent/johnston kudos, lets hope Adamson does.

Just for your information. Everyone on Mountain View that I have chosen hit .348 over higher so I'm not sure who you would have me take off from Mountain View.
I have four Orem players. I don't think I have way under-represented Orem and by the way, this isn't the DH's game. Another thing. This team had to be decided on after the first two games of the state tournament. As with any team chosen I understand people disagree. If some of you think I have picked the wrong players feel free to list your team and we can compare them.

Teams Look Good

Post  Rocket on Wed May 28, 2008 3:17 pm

Zuke,

These teams work great. You did a great job with 'em.

One thought: Hitting above .348 or above .400 or whatever doesn't always tell the whole story. Remember in the majors they play 162 so that numbers even out statistically, a hot streak in a 22 game season can happen. Just a thought. No complaints on this team, am wondering what about Roden from MV? I know he struggled a little at the end, but was thier ace on the mound, I think?

Yes, there are more guys you could put on the coulda or shoulda list, but heck there are only so many guys on the team, so don't hate, CONGRATULATE! Great job to the young men who made the team, and all the others seniors for outstanding years and great times to remember!

Thanks, great teams, great games. Someone always has to stay home. Fact!

I may be going out on a limb here... but I think the Zuke has seen more innings of high school baseball this season than just about any "fan" or parent out there. I would imagine he would have a pretty good idea who would be a good choice for the All-Star teams.

I'm sure making the decision on who to take and who to leave off was not an easy one and I think he nailed it... THAT may have been a tough decision... but the decision on the MVP for the coaches vs. all-stars game will not be too difficult... FLAN!!
